This story is about three robbers that are so poor and don't have money for anything. So why shouldn't they not go to the town and rob. Casper is the oldest one, Jesper is the one who looks the best and Johnathan loves food! And especially gingerbreads. They are always fighting about who should clean the house, who should cook the food and just act like babies. They fight about this and that. But they are really lucky that they have a lion in the dirty, little house, so the police does not dare to come there!
The novel is written by a Norwegian Thorbjorn Egner. He was a famous writer and wrote stories for children like "Dyrene in Hakkebakkeskogen" (The Animals in the woods) and "Karius and Baktus". He wrote "When the Robbers Came to Cardamom town" (Folk og Roveri i Kardemommubyen) in 1955 and wanted to show the play in Iceland. He was obsessed in Iceland. Egner was so talented that he drew all the pictures in his books and wrote all the song.
We have been practicing for two weeks and we will show it on stage in easter and there around in March. I can't wait for it!
